Angelique Liston here to help you plan your next Family vacation. Do you need a vacation for yourself, spouse and the kids? There are always the major theme parks, but the adults don’t really get a vacation. The tropics are nice but what will keep the kids entertained? What could there be for all of you…
HOLLYWOOD!!! There used to be stories of less than shining stars in Hollywood but that is as old news as Paris Hilton. Hollywood has changed and all the excitement and glamor has been turning family vacations into legendary memories. The place to stay is Hollywood Renaissance Hotel, located right in the heart of the most famous city in the world. In just a few blocks there are adventures for each family member. For the adults, there are the hottest restaurants, nightlife, House of Blues on Sunset for the ultimate in live music, The Famous Comedy Store and some of the best shopping in the country. For the kids, there is Universal Studios, Museums, Disney’s famous El Captain Theater, and not to mention the roof- top outdoor pool. As a family, you can all experience Grauman’s ChineseTheater, Lucky Strikes Bowling, Hollywood Walk of Fame, The Hollywood Wax Museum and so much more. This is going to be a vacation everyone will love!

I am Juliana Ribeiro, the Sales Coordinator at the Renaissance Hollywood Hotel. For me, summer really is the best time of the year! Nice weather, blue skies, trendy new stores to check out, awesome concerts at the Bowl and great new plays pretty much EVERY weekend. Leaving work last Tuesday, I was reminded of the Summer Jazz Festival at the Hollywood & Highland Central Courtyard - I decided it was a perfect occasion to enjoy the surprise with one of my new favorites, the “Ray of Sunshine” smoothie from D’Lush. There is a lot of bustle and movement, and the Renaissance Hotel is right in the middle of it all. There are some great hotel rate packages set up with shuttle tickets included for the Hollywood Bowl and the Pantages Theater nearby. Now that SpaLuce is being added to the hotel, it will be refreshing to “hide”, unwind, and relax in the middle of all that is happening in Hollywood. Who knew that could be possible—this is probably how a celebrity feels living in the Hollywood Hills!

With the flash bulbs of the ESPY Awards still creating spots in my vision, I hopped a plane for Washington DC for another star studded event. The destination was the M Street Renaissance Hotel. Renaissance threw an amazing grand opening party for our newest sister hotel. In attendance, a veritable “who’s who” of Washington DC society. My colleagues from around the country were there to celebrate the Renaissance Brands newest addition. In addition to Marriott corporate officers, there were Renaissance representatives from Times Square, South Beach, Sonoma, Ross Bridge, and Boston Waterfront. I brought the Red Carpet from Hollywood, Sonoma brought the wine. Combine that with the Lobster Burgers provided by M Street and the Party was on…

I am Chris Orr, the Director of Marketing at the Renaissance Hollywood Hotel.. a truly great place to work! I’m sure most people are familiar with the ESPY Awards. Tonight we have the pleasure of hosting the ESPYs for the fourth time. An unbelievable event, this annual gathering brings together the “A List” from the sports world and the entertainment world. It’s so surreal to be at the heart of it all on the day of the show. What’s even better is to have a live boxing match during the post-party in the Hollywood & Highland Center’s Central Courtyard. If you watch Wednesday Night Boxing on July 11th, you will notice a landmark hotel in the background… that’s us. In addition, the boxing analyst (Teddy Atlas) filmed his pre-fight breakdown on the roof of the hotel. Working in the heart of Hollywood has really shown me the inner workings of the industry and I have been lucky enough to witness some of the entertainment industry’s biggest events. Stay tuned for more stories from inside one of Hollywood’s greatest hotels…
