On last Thursday, we had the pleasure to see Mr. Bob Barker, of the legendary game show “The Price is Right,” introduced as the Grand Marshall for this year’s Hollywood Santa Parade. Held right outside the famous Egyptian Theater, Councilmembers Eric Garcetti and Tom LaBonge regaled us with their own memories of Hollywood, the holidays, and, of course, Mr. Barker and his show.

Garcetti and LaBonge also presented The Renaissance Hollywood Hotel with an official proclamation from the City of Los Angeles, signed by the Mayor, declaring us the official hotel for the Hollywood Santa Parade (we’ll be hosting the Green Room and all the VIPs). Our very own Chris Orr, Director of Sales and Marketing, was on-hand to accept the proclamation. He’s the one in the far right of the picture – the tall, dark, and mysterious one.

The parade, being held on November 25 this year at 5 pm, will honor the pageantry and festive spirit of its predecessor, the Hollywood Christmas Parade. Celebrities participating in this year’s parade include the cast of Disney’s High School Musical, the Wayans brothers, and Dick Van Patten. The event is, of course, free and open to the public, so make sure to make it, all right? It’ll be fun!

Mr. Barker also posed by his Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame with a family of tourists from New Hampshire, showing that he’s still got it, even at the ripe age of… Oh, that’s Bob’s agent on the line, telling me to keep my mouth shut! Oops!
