CNN, Wolf Blitzer, and a whole lots of posters!

Last night, we had the honor of being, uh, adjacent to where the Democratic candidates for president were having their final debate before the Big Giant Tuesday Primary on February 5th. Debating from the Kodak Theatre in the Hollywood & Highland Center, Senators Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton both made great arguments as to why they should be the Democratic Party’s nominee.Wolf

CNN was there, hosting the event, as was the gloriously bearded Wolf Blitzer. They shut down Hollywood Boulevard in front of the Kodak Theatre; it was truly a media circus. There were pundits, radio stations, journalists, photographers, bloggers… Clearly, nothing else was happening in LA last night.

Of course, the real fun was happening outside. Supporters started showing up at 7 AM (or earlier – I certainly wasn’t awake) and they had grown into a giant throng by 2 PM. They filled the courtyard in Hollywood & Highland. People brought their kids along, showing off magnificent homemade signs and posters, some of which were really impressive. I’m thinking of giving our art department a call about a few ideas I have… The debate didn’t even start until 5 PM or so but these supporters were chanting all day long and into the evening. Everyone was incredibly enthusiastic about being there and even, somewhat surprisingly, polite to one another. That’s always good to see.

Overall, I think everyone was really happy about how the debate and rally went. And needless to say, Wolf looks better in person. Very refined and mature. Like a good cheese.

This is Bruce, signing off.
