As my personal physician can attest, I am fond of all-you-can-eat-and-drink brunches. Not just brunches. All-you-can-eat truffle hunts, all-you-can-eat ostrich omelets, all-you-can-eat pterodactyl steak… it’s all just brilliant, really. The allure of such things are what makes this country great – I can venture forth into some “foodie” establishment, present my payment (usually golden coins), and until my stomach calls for mercy, the impetus is on me to eat, to drink, to supply my poor deprived body with all manner of earthly delights. Like cheese and pancakes and cupcakes, but in a different and wholly delicious (and secret) order.
But as anyone who has attended such a soiree before knows, the stomach eventually gets full and must digest. That’s where the jazz comes in. Jazz music, especially of the fine live variety, is actually one of the better digestive helpers out there. With a live quartet kickin’ some “Kind of Blue” or “Lush Life,” your digestive processes will kick into high gear and make eating/drinking/wasting more that much easier.
This is why our marvelous hotel is very pleased to announce the inaugural KJAZZ 88.1FM Sunday Champagne Brunch at Twist Restaurant. This Sunday morning, and every Sunday in the future, the hotel will host this series of brunches from 11 am to 2 pm, and will feature live jazz performances from top artists, a live radio broadcast from KJAZZ (the best jazz station in the city!), and an all-you-can-eat buffet of delicious breakfast and brunch items. Expect to see omelets, eggs Benedict, waffles, carved prime rib, hot entrees, salads, desserts, champagne, mimosas and much, much, more. And yes, I said All-You-Can-Eat. Sadly, no ostrich eggs, but I’ll see what I can do for the future.
The KJAZZ Sunday Brunch series will kick off with Pete Christlieb and his Tall & Small Band. From the 1970s through the 1990s, the sound of Pete’s tenor sax could be heard on television and motion picture sound tracks and recordings.

This is Bruce, signing off.
